Cherry Lane Elementary School Case Study
Cherry Lane Elementary SchoolCarle Place, NY, BBS Architects & Engineers
It's a small world after all, or at least for the students at Cherry Lane Elementary School. With the help of the playful Horizons Collection from the Brodart Collection, this library was magically transformed into a carousel themed space that just sparkles. Inspired by illustrations from the book "Classic Fairy Tales," custom stencils added whimsy to the environment.
Designed to appeal to children, the interior of the new Cherry Lane Elementary School Library features an engaging combination of colorful furniture designs with custom stencils inspired by illustrations from artist Scott Gustafson’s book, “Classic Fairy Tales.” A carousel theme is carried throughout the library’s interior on wall murals, sculptures, and furniture designs.
An ideal selection for the elementary level, playful Horizon tables and Metro wood chairs were chosen for this space. Information access stations with custom carousel designs were also featured throughout the facility to provide a variety of functional and unique learning surfaces. Single and double-faced durable Omega shelving from the Brodart Collection is utilized throughout the library to house and display books and media of all shapes and sizes.
